Views are limited by the forest, however, this route takes you along the edge of an active quarry which opens up views of Cardiff and even has a raised metal viewing platform. This elevates the walk as the views are far-reaching and interesting. You could easily extend the walk in many different directions as the woodland is riddled with well-walked pathways.
