A walk taking in Kenfig Pool, Kenfig Castle and the beach, starting and ending at the wonderful Hyde Out Coffee and Cake Bar.
Parking is generous, but not free and the visitor centre has toilets. The Hyde Out Coffee and Cake Bar offers a superb selection of drinks, snacks and proper food, well worth a visit on its own. The walk starts on easy paths through the most popular areas – but can definitely get boggy in the wetter months – and then you get into the quieter parts of the dunes with plenty of sand walking.
Kenfig Castle is easy to find, but not much left and there is a path up to the remains. The walk then is about picking a path back to the coast and then you have the easy coast path to follow, or you can walk on the beach. A beautiful walk and beach, but it can be hard going on a hot day in the dunes with the sand underfoot.
