If you park at Storey Arms and, instead of heading towards Pen Y Fan, take a path on the other side of the road, the path less taken, then you can do a four mountain loop, starting with Craig Cerrig-gleisiad. The walk to this mountain is quite gentle, as you move sideways along the ridgeway and gain height gradually. This gives you great views of Storey Arms and Pen y Fan whenever you turn around.

The path you follow up to the summit is part of the Beacons Way, a 99 mile walk across the national park, so it is well signposted and easy to follow. The summit is marked by a pile of rocks and offers good views in every direction, with Pen y Fan and Corn Du pretty much opposite on the other side of the road.

You can turn around and head back to Storey Arms if you wanted to just do the one quick mountain. However, if you want to make the initial climb worth it you can head quickly to Fan Frynych before turning back or continue for a four mountain loop taking in Fan Llia and Fan Fawr as well.
