Fan Fawr is quickly accessible from the Storey Arms car park, with the path going almost straight up to the summit, with some very steep sections if you take the most direct route. I approached it from Ystradfellte Reservoir, on a circular route taking in three other mountains along the way. Fan Fawr is one of the higher peaks in Wales and is odd in that the summit trig point is not at the highest point.

The actual highest point is marked by a cairn and offers great views of Pen y Fan and the valley. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48mm @ 24mm, f8.

The views are well worth the short walk from Storey Arms and they cap off the four mountain loop perfectly. |Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f8.
