Mynydd Bedwellte is a 486m high hill near Tredegar. This route takes from an easily accessible parking spot next to a small pond, near the Cefn Golau Cholera Cemetery. – you can follow road signs for this to help you find the pond.
The walk is on open tracks – many of which are very popular with bikers who have churned up most of the area.
On the way up on the left-hand side you’ll see a large cairn – complete with beer bottles. This is up the first steep-ish part before it levels off towards the main hill with the trig point on it.
The hill provides good views of the surrounding valleys and the Brecon Beacons and has a trig point marking the summit – complete with bench.
