One of most accessible hills in the Brecon Beacons, with a car park offering a near-level pathway to the summit, the Blorenge is a very popular hill between Blaenavon and Abergavenny. The nearby Keepers pond is also very popular, and the nearby Punchbowl pond is also well walked.

The car park offers the quickest and easiest walk up the Blorenge. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.

You can walk the Blorenge from most directions and I have walked if from Llanfoist Canal before that offers a very steep track that will have you pretty much scrambling towards the end.

The path from the car park is very gentle, but a nice walk. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.

This walk was from a nearby layby, rather than parking at the car park I walked just a bit further so I could also wander past the Keepers Pond on the way back. The walk is very easy, country lane for the first part, a well-worn path from the car park to the summit and back and then a grassy path to the Keepers Pond and back to the car.

The gentle walk doesn’t distract from the fact you are high enough to be above the clouds at times. | Tamron Adaptall SP 24-48 @ 24mm, f11.

Great hill to do with the kids because you are high up so get the views, but without too much exertion.
