This is a nice walk, with good paths and easy parking. Views are great from the off – before you even park the car you have views in every direction worthy of a photo – and the terrain is soft grass and well established tracks.
Blaen Onneu is a 541m hill topped by a white trig point with red Welsh dragon and offers great views of the Brecon Beacons looking north, the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid East and West you can see Mynydd Llangynidr and Cefn yr Ystrad.
There is only a relatively short amount of ascent to do to get to Blaen Onneu, so it is well worth it. As the route is gentle it is also a good hill to do with the kids.
