Ysgyryd Fach is a 271m hill in Monmouthshire, just outside of Abergavenny. In English it is ‘Little Skirrid’, as it is smaller than the nearby Skirrid (Ysgyryd Fawr).

This is a good little walk, with plenty of ascent through classic country paths up to a wooded top with good views over to the Sugar Loaf.

Parking is at a good sized layby off of the main road and the footpath starts at the end of this. Clearly marked paths with good stiles then take you all the way to the summit in a very direct fashion. You could take different routes back to the car, as several paths are marked.

The summit itself is lightly wooded and overgrown, so the views are restricted, but if you take a few steps back you have open views looking West.

A good little hill and worth doing, you could easily walk further if you wanted, or head back to the car and drive on a little further to Ysgyryd Fawr.
