Garn Ddu is a 462m hill in the Brecon Beacons, offering good views of the Pen y Fan horseshoe walk and wide views South.

You park at a decent-sized layby next to Llwyn-Onn reservoir and cross the road to a signposted footpath that takes you up through fields, along woodland tracks and eventually opens up to the open moorland near the top. At this point you follow a good trail all the way to the unmarked, but easy to find, summit of Garn Ddu.

The summit offers good views in every direction, including South towards Cefn Cil-Sanws, which the above route takes in at the same time. A good walk and a decent hill, worth visiting for a different view of Pen y Fan – and a very peaceful walk.
