An easy walk this one, parking is at a popular viewing point (complete with ice cream van) and as you’re already fairly high up there is only 338ft of ascent to get to the trig point.

The path up is clear to follow and the trig point pretty easy to find, just dipping through some trees at the end to get to the small clearing. Views are good outside of the forest.

You start on wide gravel roads and can follow little detours along the way, clearly motor bikes and mountain bikes use the trails so there are plenty of them.

The forest itself is going through some logging, so a big ‘keep out’ sign is on the gate into the forest. I cut alongside the forest, right on the edge, just inside the fence to make my way to the trig point.

The fence parallel to the trig point loses its barbed wire top so you can step over it and get back onto common ground easily.

An easy little walk and a nice drive means this is a recommended hill.
