A really short, easy walk around a nice pond with a café in the warmer months as well that serves hot and cold food, snacks and Ice cream etc. The pond is actually quite high up, just over 300m, so the views are broad and you have footpaths in most directions should you wish to explore a little further – including one that takes you up the nearby hill Mynydd Pen-y-Fan.
Suitable for prams and a good place for a picnic with the kids – take some duck food as well to feed ducks and swans. You’ll frequently see Cormorants as well.
Opposite side of the main road you will find Fferm Gelli. Also there’s a charity warehouse on Rush Drive called Waste Not Want Not. Both can be found on Facebook.
I’ve not popped into Fferm Gelli yet, but it looks like they do some decent breakfast food. I will have to check out the charity warehouse, I love a bargain.
