Gray Hill is a 273m hill in Monmouthshire, near Wentwood. The route above is a very short walk, parking at a dedicated car park that has room for a lot of cars – there are lots of alternative car parks throughout Wentwood if you wanted a longer walk.

The track starts as a gravel road and then splits off to two smaller paths, easy to follow but be careful if it is raining as the path up is clearly a stream when raining.

The path is very steep in places and a bit overgrown from above, so requires some ducking – particularly on the way down. The top is marked by the remains of a cairn with a picnic bench nearby – so a good spot for a picnic.

The views across the Bristol channel are really good, especially on a clear day, so it is a hill well worth walking. You could easily make it into a circular walk as there are plenty of footpaths around the hill.
