This 486m hill probably needs no introduction, but if you haven’t walked it you really should. Parking is at a dedicated National Trust car park, offering well maintained paths to the famous and often-visited trig point at the end of a fine, short ridgeway ascent.

The start in the forest is steep, but as soon as you break out of the trees you are rewarded with stunning views in every direction and they get better and better the higher you go.

You can take in the gentle rolling fields of England to your East and the classic Sugar Loaf hill to your Left. Looking North you have the entire Black Mountains range in front of you. Just a perfectly formed hill with views to match.

The only downside to sitting on top and drinking in the views is the number of flies around that seem to love hanging out at the summit.
