A family-friendly short walk of this 415m Powys hill offering spectacular views South over the whole Brecon Beacons range.
You can drive up the country lane and there are numerous places to park alongside on grassy verges.
The walk up to the trig point and stone roundabout – a small patch of trees and a stone seating area – is on smooth grass that is fine for a pram to be pushed on.
The walk up and back from the road is only about 1 mile in total, so it really is a great hill to do with the kids as it has a nice trig point, amazing views and the stone roundabout provides some interest (and shelter).
This route skirts around a nearby pond and you could happily extend this walk a myriad of ways over smooth grass paths and tracks.
Views from the off are some of the best I’ve had from any hill, with the Black Mountains range in the East and the Carmarthen Fens in the West and the whole Beacons range in between.
A highly recommended hill.
