This is a short and peaceful walk that offers a good way to spend an hour if you have kids – thanks to the good play park – and for active parents there is even a well-specced outside gym.

The woodland path.

You can park next to the community centre, and if this car park is full then there is on-road parking as well. The park is good, with some new features recently added and there is also a woodland space just off of this that is well played in as well. If you’ve had enough of the park you can head up the hill, which is fairly steep for a short  section on a pram-friendly pavement that takes you onto a short tarmac loop around some woodland – which is surrounded by open countryside.

Peaceful with plenty of wildlife.

Lots of wildlife, including squirrels and a wide variety of birds. You can also access a large field and a rugby pitch, so lots of green space for kids to run around in.

This is a good little place to stop-off if you live locally and offers a peaceful alternative to better known woodland areas.
