A really nice walk up a fantastic hill just North of Cardiff. Extensive 360 degree views from the Brecon Beacons North to the Bristol Channel and England South.
You can park next to a community centre, close to a bridge that Crosses the river Taff and takes you to the bottom of Garth Hill. From there you follow a succession of public footpaths up to the summit and to the trigpoint. You can then make the walk circular by descending the Garth towards Cardiff and cutting around the hill back to the parking spot. I would recommend good walking shoes or boots as parts of the walk can be quite wet and muddy.
