You can walk this little circular route in whichever direction you want. Starting from the car park you can cross the little footbridge to walk one way, or follow the path directly down the other side of the river and not cross the footbridge until returning to the carpark at the end of the walk.
A short flat walk on good tarmac paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Includes nice sections of trees and follows the river down one bank and back up the other. Parking is free and plentiful and you could walk into Cwmbran afterwards.
The paths are generally smooth and good, but there are a few patches of rougher concrete. This should not cause an issue for prams / wheelchairs though and the majority of the route is smooth tarmac.
The river is pleasant enough and you might see dippers, kingfishers and wagtails along it. There are a good selection of different trees along the route, making it a good autumn walk when the leaves are changing colour.
There is a skate park at the end of the first half of the walk and an alternative free car park which you could start at.
Overall a good little walk, especially as there aren’t many easy river walks in South Wales.
