The path is part of the Sirhowy Valley walk and is well signposted throughout along with information boards and distance markers. It is on an old railway line which means the descent to Crosskeys is gentle and you’ll see a few remnants of the industrial past along the way.

To start the walk cross the road just past the Halfway House and pick up the path / cycle route and then just follow it all the way! You’ll be in woodland most of the way with variable levels of tree cover and shelter and changing views across the valley that open and close with the tree cover.
