A short stroll around Barry taking in Barry Island’s main beach and a pleasant walk around Barry Harbour.
This is a short and gentle walk starting anywhere around Wetherspoons in Barry. You can park on the stret nearby, or find a space further up the road towards Barry town centre. You start the walk by heading towards the train station and continuing past that road towards Barry Harbour.
When you reach the harbour you can cross the road and walk around the harbour, cutting right into the main car park and then head out to the harbour wall, enjoying views back across to Barry in the process. You can then walk across the headland, or right out to the end of the headland and around.
After this you can either continue on the path towards Barry Island seafront, or you can drop down some steps onto the beach and walk across the sand. Either way you end up at the seafront cafes, shops and amusement arcades.
Once you’re done you can then head back through the streets, under the railway bridge and through the new developments of housing.
Eventually you walk past Goodsheds – a great place for a bite to eat and a drink – and you can then head under the railway bridge and back onto the main street. You can head left and be back to where you started.
