This 5 mile walk takes in some stunning views and a variety of paths. It is one of the best 5 mile walks in this area and highlights the peaceful paths available here. Parking is plentiful and free, the paths are easy to follow and there is only one section of significant ascent and this is quite gentle.
In my opinion this area is hugely underrated as a hiking area, with the forested valley giving you a sense of scale you don’t always get in the South Wales Valleys. This walk starts by taking in those views, before taking in distant views up to the Bannau Brycheniog and the wider South Wales Valleys. It also has gentle country fields, dark forests and some wonderful paths.
If you are looking for a relatively gentle 5 mile walk in this area, this is highly recommended.
